Get Off Your Mat and Travel!

Whitney and I just got back from one of our most amazing trips ever to southern Ireland. This beautiful country coupled with the most friendly people were all I had imagined it would be, and then some!

It was my first trip to Ireland and my first time traveling with a group, with little knowledge of our itinerary.

What started with a little anxiety, quickly became sheer delight. I returned with amazing memories, some new special friends - all the while learning a little about myself in the process.

Yoga teachers try to have a theme or intention to help students stay focused and motivated. As I prepared to teach my first class after our Ireland adventure, I realized how similar (and necessary) both yoga and travel are to me.

I wanted to inspire my students to "get off their mats and travel."

However, I urge you to “get on your mat”, if you never have and “go on an adventure” if it's been awhile. You'll be glad you did.

What a joy when I receive photos from my yoga students when they travel.

Traveling is life’s greatest teacher.”

My yoga mat is like our trip itinerary; it’s where we start our journey, but the experience is different for everyone.

The beauty of travel is that it reveals the beauty inside of us.

The more yoga you do, the more you see the beauty in yourself and others.

Don’t tell me how educated you are, tell me how much you have traveled.

Yoga is not about doing fancy poses (although there are a lot of cool ones). It’s about how yoga makes you feel.

Destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.

You never perfect yoga, it's a journey; and one you can take anytime, anywhere.

Though we travel the world over to find beauty, we must carry it with us or we find it not.

This is the essence of yoga!

Ireland charmed me, it took me in. If you stick with yoga, it will too.

Tell me about some of your fun travel adventures and let's take a yoga class together soon!
