BE MORE
This is not the Barbie we grew up with!
This is Barbie Taylor, our close doctor friend who went to school with my husband at Rice University. We can all be inspired by Barb; whether it is her zest for life, her incredible love for her husband, George, the fact they move to a new country every year, or her love of talking about….menopause!
This southern gal never imagined she would grow up to be a vegan, business owner, blogger, Harley rider, yoga instructor, married to a Yankee and having only one child!
As a yoga instructor, I always set an intention (theme) for my students reflection during their yoga practice, on and off the mat. Yet, sometimes I find it difficult to find the time to reflect intentions for myself or my students.
It’s official, the holiday season is here, and "love" should be shining brightly in all we say and do. But with the recent worldly events “throwing shade” on our hearts and minds; that love and light appears much dimmer.
Once again, here are a few random things that help me "Do More, Be More and Eat More".
I hope they add a little MORE to your life too!
I love sharing things that make me happy. Even better, my heart glows when I hear about what makes you happy.
I want us to live well and love well, together. I also don’t want to get old and be boring. If you happen to be a friend of mine, I’m not going to let you!
After a crazy few weeks on the road for work and some long hours, I am finding my way back to me this week. Have you ever felt like that?
I feel more Humpty Dumpty than Lisa Crouse at the moment. Putting myself back together again involves making my favorite recipes, calling family and friends, yoga, biking, knitting and blogging.
If you haven’t met my friend, Nancy Flaherty, you should. She is my fashion inspiration and going to be guest blogging all things fashion. I met Nancy at Starbucks when we were knitting hats for children in Africa and we've been close ever since. Nancy has a passion for everything to do with fashion. She helped me accessorize my first knitted dress with some red cowboy boots. Nancy convinced me to celebrate my birthday at the Voque Knitting Show in NYC with her.
That’s the opening line of The 5 Minute Journal, a gift given to me on my 55th birthday from my dear friends, Mary and Joe. Since opening it, I’ve been giving the whole happiness thing some thought. A year later, as I celebrate my 56th birthday this week, I wanted to share some thoughts on happiness with you.
One of the reasons I started this blog was to share my passions and one of those is people. Thanks to God for placing people in my life to get me through difficult times, teach me things I don't know while making life fun and interesting. I need people way more than they need me. Know that each of you reading this blog plays a role in this!
I don't really see myself as gray - which you may think an odd thing for me to say. Recently, I attended a wedding and ran into some old college buddies, only to be humbled when one of my favorite dates didn't recognize me.
I just read an article in Mind Body Green titled, "8 Questions To Ask If You Want To Change Your Life" and I just had to post about it! Here are the eight questions:
Once a month I will do a post on a few things that help me:
Be More, Do More and Eat More...
I hope they add a little MORE to your life too!
Thanks to the family and friends that supported me in “A Walk to End Alzheimer’s” in Charleston, S.C. last weekend.
Recently, I read a great article about making better decisions with my time and money, and choosing which types of activities deserved these precious resources. It challenged me to ask myself: is this a “hell yeah!” situation?
My new favorite!
Truth is, at this age no one wants to see my belly bare. That said, I love this new, locally made sunscreen I recently found at the Alpharetta Farmers Market.
I had to write a post with this title! Whitney and I haven't seen the film yet (he doesn't seem too interested)...maybe I'll have to tie him down for a screening..
I love how much Whitney reads (and frankly I'm quite envious). He reads everything, but mostly enjoys nonfiction. We share a Kindle so I feel more knowledgable just browsing all the numerous books he has devoured. Recently, a book called Life Lessons: Two Experts on Dying Teach us About the Mysteries of Life and Living really got my attention. It's a must read for anyone wanting to live a better life, sooner than later! And isn't that everyone?
