Thanks to the family and friends that supported me in “A Walk to End Alzheimer’s” in Charleston, S.C. last weekend.
My amazing mom was diagnosed with early on-site Alzheimer’s when she was 61 and lived with it for 10 years. It was horrible watching my beautiful mom I loved dearly, disappear right in front of me. My dad was an incredible caregiver, but the burden on him took it’s toll.
By the way there are over 500 million people of all ages struggling with Alzheimer’s right now.
I hate to admit, I use to spend a considerable amount of time worrying about whether I would get the disease and if so, when? Then I got mad that I let worry, rob me from living the abundant life God wanted me to live.
Now I try to celebrate everyday! I’m also totally sold out on nutrition and exercise; not only because I feel better, but the research shows they can help prevent or delay dementia.
