Why You Should Be A Knit Wit!

I AM A KNIT WIT

You should be one too!

For those of you that don’t understand why I love knitting so much, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, the Yarn Harlot expresses it well:

Knitting is a complex and joyful act of creation in my life.

Each knitted gift holds hours of my life.

Knitting is love, looped and warm.

Yarn...the postcards of my life.

But if you need more inspiration than that, how about a little science behind it?

The Inside Your Brain series on CNN took a look at how knitting affects our brain and found it can be an effective treatment of PTSD, as it helps to dampen internal chaos. It serves as a natural antidepressant. There is the belief that it can help keep the brain young by preventing cerebral atrophy and significantly delaying dementia.

Or read the New York Times article on the Health Benefits of Knitting.

Each beautiful skein of yarn has a new story to tell! I am happy to get you started on telling your story. Or, if you really want to learn or expand your knitting, connect with my talented friend Katie at www.knitworthyarts.com or follow her on instagram.

FYI...men can be Knit Wits too!
